Springtime fun!

Any day spent with Daddy is a fun one!  This particular day, we spent time at the Cincinnati Zoo.  Beautiful place this time of year!!
Aubrey and Daddy on the train.
 Fun on the carousel.
Annie girl was really having a good time...I think she just got a bit camera shy! :)

Enjoyed some time playing at Sawyer Point one morning recently.
Aubrey was thrilled to learn how to blow a bubble!
Aubrey is really into writing notes and reading things these days.  She asked me how to spell "ing" and "th" but other than that, wrote this all by herself!  I'll translate, just in case.  "Cole Blackmon, I had fun playing with you." Then towards the top left where it says "nis Aubrey Profitt," she told me it says, "signed Aubrey Profitt."  Not bad for a 4 year old!  She does such a good job already!
Mother's Day 2013 with my girls.
BEAUTIFUL roses from their daddy...quite a few of them are bigger than the palm of my hand!
 My card
Aubrey thought it was cool that the tulips were almost as tall as her. :)
Have a blessed week!!!

Random Winter 2012/2013

One chilly cold afternoon, we decided to head up to the parking lot (which was empty due to Christmas Break) so the kids could ride their bikes.

Aubrey is a little pro!
Annie received a tricycle for Christmas (thanks, grandma and grandpa!!) and has enjoyed learning to ride it around the kitchen and dining room.  By the time it was nice enough to go outside, she knew enough about riding it to have a good time going in circles! :)
This shows perfectly the personality of our little Annie.  She's so funny!
Annie had 2 celebrations this year for her birthday.  The first came the weekend before her special day when all of my family came to town.  My nephew Evan's birthday is a couple days before Annie's, so we all get together and celebrate.  It was a really fun time having everyone at my house.  Never has happened before but with our big house, we all had plenty of room and enjoyed ourselves!  The second party came the day after her birthday (not on, because of a special meeting which I will blog about in the near future!).  Aaron, Lisa and the boys came up for a pizza supper and then we had leftover (from the week before, but hey, it was still good and she didn't care one bit!) cake.

Here is Annie with her piece of cake! ;)
Special guests!
 My lovely 2 year old!
This is so us.  We love to sit and snuggle for a while in the mornings while we are still in our pj's.  Making memories to last forever!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Annie!

Can't believe my baby is 2!
She is such a mommy's girl.  Love her!
Two years ago this is where we were.
 Annie's first Sunday at church.
 Melts my heart.
Probably the first family picture.  The days leading up to Annie's birth, Aubrey was horribly sick with the flu.  I prayed that God wouldn't allow Annie to be born until Aubrey was 110% better.  I couldn't imagine having to leave my sick baby, to go have another one!  Thankfully, the morning I woke with contractions, Aubrey was completely better.  Around noon, I called my Grandma to see if she could come and stay with me, just in case I needed to go to the hospital.  She came and by 4, Adam came home sick.  That was handy, because I had just called the nurse and they wanted me to come in to get checked out.  He took some meds and we were off.  By the time we arrived, the doctor was surprised to find that I was already 8cm.  He asked if I'd like to walk to the hospital or have a wheelchair.  I figured since I was fine (except when I was having a good ol' contraction) I'd make the trek.  Had to stop a time or 2 on the way for a contraction, but we made it fine.  By the time I got to the check in spot, they had a chair ready for me and took me on to my room.  Adam had to stay behind to get me checked in.  My Aunt works in that spot but had just left to get a salad for supper.  By the time she got back I'd already been taken and she met Adam.  After a few minutes passed and I was settled in my room, Adam and Aunt Sarah came in.  I was so glad she was working that evening for more reasons than one.  A very good reason is that we had left my bag, cameras, etc., in the vehicle that was parked outside the doctor's office.  When we walked over to the hospital, we didn't even think about going back to the car to get it before we went.  Thankfully, Sarah ran and got it for us.  Around 2 hours after I got to the hospital, Annie was born.  My mom made it about 30 minutes before Annie did.  I was so thankful.  With Adam being sick, he was able to mainly stand along the side to see what was going on and then rest on the couch, instead of having to serve Daddy duty.

Wasn't planning to write all that, but there we have it!
Building a bond to last a lifetime.
Getting to know one of her now favorite people!

Aubrey's "first day of school"

When we went to Lima for Maria's wedding, we went on Thursday evening so I could be there all day Friday to help with last minute decorations, fittings, etc.  The preschool teacher at my dad's school had mentioned to me that Aubrey would be welcome to join them for class if she wanted for that day.  My dad took her when he went for Opening Exercises and she stayed most of the day.  To say she LOVED it would be an understatement.  She was so excited to get to spend the day at school.  The teacher just copied off the papers they were working on for that day and gave Aubrey her packet.  She worked right along with the class and did a great job!  It is hard for me to believe that she will be going to Kindergarten this fall.  She is super excited about it.

A little late, but too cute not to share!

Every year our church does "trunk or treat" and it is such a fun time to get with church family and share God's love with the community.  This year, we took a bumble bee and a ladybug.  :)

My Best Friend's Wedding

I was so honored when my best friend from childhood asked me to stand up with her in her wedding.  She was a year behind me in school, and after she graduated, she came to GBS where we roomed together until I got married and moved out.  After she graduated from college, she served as a missionary teacher in Guatemala for 3 (I think it was!) years.  Her sweetheart finally realized what a girl she was and decided he should snag her before she got away! :)  I'm so happy for Maria (and Andrew) and wish her the best in everything.

I had Adam snap this picture of me after the wedding at my parents house since I didn't get one alone earlier.
