Seems odd for me to be blogging when I don't have any pictures to share, as that's usually what my posts are. You see, I have a couple of problems...our camera has decided it doesn't want to be part of the family anymore. I had an older camera that I had been hanging on to, and we used that one at Christmas time only to come out with a bunch of blurry pictures. It takes great ones outside, just not inside.

Annie girl turns 1 on Wednesday. I can't believe how quickly life just blows by. I'm so thankful for her little life and for how God has blessed her. This past week has been a bit troublesome for her. A couple of weeks ago I took her to the doctor, suspecting an ear infection. Turns out, her right ear was infected. They put her on an antibiotic which was a 10 day one, hoping that would kick it. We were 3 days into the antibiotic when things started happening with her digestive tract. It was not a fun day and left her diaper area very raw. I stopped giving that medicine and called the doctor again. She switched her to another medicine which we were able to finish with no complications. In the meantime, she was still digging at her ears - both of them. This past Thursday night we went to bed like normal. I was awakened to her crying at around 3am. She usually sleeps through the night but this does happen some, so I wasn't worried about anything. I opened the door to find her puking. This is a first for my baby. She's teething like crazy and is congested, had no diarrhea or fever, so I confused. I thought maybe it was the congestion and teething combined that caused it. I "slept" with her in the guest room the rest of that night and there were no more episodes. We had a normal day on Thursday, so I was thinking it must have been a fluke. The puke, that is! Anyway, Friday night, Adam had scheduled a "stay-awake-a-thon" for the youth. A "SAAT" is a fundraiser where your teens find people to sponsor them any amount of money per hour to stay awake. Seems silly, but this is a really easy to make some money for your youth group. I knew I wasn't going to spend the night there with having the girls, so around 10 pm Adam brought us home and helped get the kiddos in bed. Once again around 3 am, I heard Annie crying again. I jumped up and got in there to find her in a lot of the same situation as the night before, only much less. Needless to say, I was one tired momma when Saturday rolled around. She started in with diarrhea on Saturday morning and vomited once more. So, I called the doctor thinking I could leave a message for the on-call doctor, not realizing they were open. When I heard their options that included "speak to a nurse," I was very happy. She suggested we bring her in, because of all of the variables. We went only to find that both of her ears were infected. Thankfully, her chest was clear. So, we left there with yet another antibiotic. She seems to be feeling quite a bit better last night and today, for which we are very grateful. This week still has a lot planned, including seeing "daddy" off to Idaho/Kansas on yet another PR trip. These are the times that I'm especially thankful I live so close to my parents. I plan to go spend the weekend with them.

A couple of mornings ago, we woke up to it snowing. The ground was quickly getting covered and the parking lot was covered. I told Aubrey that after breakfast, we could get ready and go up to the parking lot to make snow angels. She was very excited, so that is what we did. The only problem was that I wanted to put Annie in a snow suit instead of just a coat, and the only one I have is a size 6-9 month. She's in 18 month clothes. So, I stuffed her into it and zipped it up. She could hardly move an inch in the thing, but she was warm!

She didn't seem to mind though!

But, when she fell...there was no getting up!

Steve and Mandy helped us bring in the new year this year. We had such a great time. Our snacks included: meat candy, spinach, artichoke and parmesan dip, cheeseball, marinated conch, hot pepper jelly over cream cheese and buster bar dessert. We were stuffed! This is the only picture I took...Mandy was making meat candy. She graciously allowed Aubrey to help her. Aubrey loved it!

It is so hard to believe that my baby is almost 1 year old, already. I know we have most of this month still, but the way the last months have flown, I know this one will, too. She is such a happy baby and loves to play with her sister. She is very much a Momma's girl but loves her daddy, too! As far as her size goes, she continues to grow above the charts. Her sister did the same, but within the past few months, Annie past up Aubrey in length at the same age. Aubrey's weight was more though. Annie is jabbering quite a bit and will say a few words that are understandable. Those include: Mama, Dada, Baba and most recently, Gama (for Grandma). She started walking at just 10 months. We were at my parents house and she took her first steps for my mom...I wasn't there to see them! After coming home, she didn't walk much at all, but within about 2 weeks she decided to try again. She does very well and will walk just about everywhere now. I put shoes on her for the first time on Christmas Eve. I knew we would be with my family at my cousins restaurant and she would want to be down a lot. She wasn't too thrilled about the new walking surface, but has adjusted well. Her latest change is her car seat. Last night, we decided she was just to big and long (and HEAVY!!) for the baby seat. She seems to like her new ride! These pictures were taken with my phone, so excuse the blur.

My Mom had this stocking hanging on her mantel a few years ago, and Aubrey would light up every time she saw it (as a baby). So, when it was time for us to head home, she sent it with us. I filled it up with goodies for Aubrey this year. Since I'm so afraid of head injuries caused by stocking holders on fire place mantels (or any head injury!!) I didn't hang them up again this year. Going to wait til Annie is a bit older so no risk of her pulling it off on herself. So, Aubrey's stocking stayed filled right here on this door knob. It had been there all season, but not filled until the night before Christmas, so she didn't even notice anything was different about it.

So, most people say they see Adam when they look at Annie. I am posting these pictures to get your opinion. The picture below of Annie was taken today (she's 7 months old). It's the only one I could find easily where she didn't have a bow on her head. So, ignore me and look at her. :)

The significance of the blanket used in some of the photos is this: it was my mother-in-law's blanket when she was a child and she used it to wrap her dolls when she was playing. She wanted to pass it down to her daughter some day, but when she didn't have one herself, decided it would go to her first granddaughter. That just happened to be our Aubrey. I was so very happy that Aubrey was blessed with this awesome gift from her Grandma.

A few things about Aubrey right now (Momma's time to brag!!):
*She is COMPLETELY diaper free!!! (potty trained since Sept, but still wore them at nap/night)

*She can sound out 2 letter words and sometimes 3 letter ones.
*Saying she LOVES to sing just might be an understatement.
*She loves helping me with dishes and will drop anything she is doing when she hears the water.
*She loves to help me out with any housework, really...laundry, sweeping, dusting...
*She knows 4 memory verses.
*She is 41 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds.
*She wears size 10 shoe and is in anywhere from 4T to 5T.
*She loves to play with her dolls and to "mother" them.
*She is very much a people person, but once she has had her fill, she LOVES to sit in her room alone and read her books
*She loves her "big girl bed" that she got for Christmas and still very willingly (most days) takes her nap.
*She's a great big sister!

We love you, Aubrey and are so happy God gave you to us! :)

Annie's Dedication

Very special circumstances surrounded little Annie's dedication. I was so pleased that both grandparents were able to be a part of Aubrey's dedication, and with looking at Annie's, I just didn't think that was going to be possible. I like to have them dedicated as early as possible and with Adam's parents living in Grand Cayman and having no plans to visit until Summer, I was sorta bummed that they wouldn't be able to be a part.

Ron's mother was getting very low and ended up passing away on a Friday morning. This meant Ron and Becky would fly home that weekend to be here for the funeral. (Tickets these days are quite high, so we weren't sure both of them would be able to come.) Adam and I had planned to go to Lima that weekend to visit, and decided to go ahead as we would have all day Friday and most of the day Saturday to visit. I packed clothes only for Friday and Saturday thinking we would be returning to Cincinnati to be with his family on Saturday, Sunday, etc. On the way to Lima, we were feverishly looking for cheaper tickets so both parents could come. Finally, the thought hit me to contact the travel agent in Cayman that we had worked with (she also attended the church and her son attended the school) to see if she would be able to come up with anything cheaper than what we were finding. I was really wanting them to come because I wanted them to both see Annie as a newborn. We were about half-way to Lima and I was talking to her and it hit me that another route option would be for them to fly into Detroit where fares were cheaper a lot of times. Longer story, shorter...she found reasonable tickets flying into Detroit and back out of Dayton. I was so excited and then started thinking...we will all be in Lima on Sunday...boy, I should have brought clothes so we could have Annie dedicated with everyone there. Could we do it anyway? Could we make do with what we had taken with us? Yes, we could! I bought Adam a shirt to go with the nice jeans he had taken, Megan loaned me a tan skirt to wear with the sweater I had taken, Stephanie loaned us a pair of Allison's shoes (and an outfit that we didn't end up needing!), and Mom bought the girls not-so-dressy dresses so that we didn't look like too crazy of a family trying to dedicate this little one to God!

I was sooo thankful that God worked out all the details to give me the desire of my heart!

So blessed to have my dad be able to dedicate both of my girls.

Happy Birth Day, Annie Marie!!

Well, January 25th sure started off way differently than I'd ever imagined and certainly ended in a much more dramatic way! I awoke at 5:30 am having some weird feelings (which were quickly identified as contractions) that would come every 20-30 minutes and would last around 20 seconds. At first, I would just have to roll over on my side to get through them, but after a little while would have to get up out of bed to get through them. When Adam stirred, I said, "I've been awake since 5:30 with contractions - I think it's false labor." His response? "Cool!" I quickly told him that it was "not cool" and they hurt pretty bad! He said he was sorry and went back to sleep! :) As the day went on, the contractions got heavier and somewhat closer together. After talking to my mom on the phone, she advised me to call my grandmother to see if she could come over to just be here with me and Aubrey in case something would happen. That way she would be here and we could leave if and when necessary. I called her and she came over just after lunch. This is when the contractions got stronger and more frequent. I still wasn't convinced that anything was REALLY happening, because they weren't 5 minutes apart. We had just been through a long 5 days where Aubrey fought an awful flu. In fact, we had her at Children's ER on Saturday. I had prayed over and over again that the baby wouldn't be born until Aubrey was 110% better because the thought of me having to leave her when she was sick was more than I wanted to think about. Thankfully, on Tuesday morning she woke up perky as ever and was evidently back to normal. What I didn't think to pray was that God would keep the flu bug away from the rest of us...I guess...because that day, Adam came home sick with fever. He had been off quite a bit for Aubrey's sickness and was behind on stuff so was in and out just trying to get things done. My contractions had grown stronger and stronger until finally I called the nurses answering service just asking if the contractions could taper off and if not, would they get stronger? Otherwise, I was in for a rough night. At 4:00 she called me back and said that I could try drinking water and sitting still or since I was dilated to 3 and 70% at my previous appointment, I could come in for a labor check. I didn't want to go to the hospital just to be sent home, so this sounded good. Adam had just gotten back home again, but this time was staying because he felt rotten. I told him what the nurse said and he thought we hould go in. He took a dose of Dayquill and off we went to the doctor. It was now 4:30pm. We walked in and the doctor later told me he thought there was no way in the world it was real - I was smiling!! (In between the contractions I felt fine, so there was no reason to frown!!) Adam called Mom and told her what the plan was and she had gone home, grabbed her bags and was on her way. Much to everyone's surprise, I was between 8 and 9 cm dilated. He quickly sent us walking to the hospital where everyone was waiting for us. They got me in a wheelchair and took me right past triage - where my Aunt was working (had just left to grab a salad in the cafeteria for supper and by the time she got back, I was gone!). Adam stayed there to get me checked in. When I was wheeled into the room, everything was set up and ready for me to have the baby. The nurse handed me the gown and showed me to the bathroom. They quickly got my fluids and antibiotic (strep B) going so they could start the epidural as soon as possible, for which I was thankful!! Adam soon joined me in the room and was there while I got my epidural. I was scared as this was something that was new for me. The doctor that did it was excellent and waited until I finished a contraction to start and was finished by the time my next contraction came. When walking over to the hospital we realized that our bag of everything we needed (cameras included) was still in our vehicle which was parked in the garage by the doctor's office. Aunt Sarah came in soon, so when Adam asked if there was a runner that could go get the bag, she quickly agreed to help us and ran for it. We were afraid that if Adam left, he'd miss the birth. She got back in time and my Mom soon came in. So thankful the cops left her alone that day...she was really hurrying!!! She made it with 25 minutes to spare. When she walked in she had this look of "did I make it?" with wide eyes! After a huge sigh of relief from both of us she came over and I cried! :) After being head down for a while, little missy decided that she wanted to turn a little bit - that's what kept her from coming even faster! They had me to lay on my side "Texas Roll" and she moved back down into position. Four contractions of pushing and at 7:07 pm Annie Marie was born. It was the most amazing experience. I was used to a Cayman way of doing things and was actually scared to give birth here in America. Not sure why - people come here from other places all the time to do this. The comparisons are unbelievable. So thankful for a much nicer hospital that was roach/ant free, up-to-date equipment and good food - just to name a few!

Baby Sprinkle!

Recently, Adam took a youth pastor position at a church 10 minutes away called Immanuel Church of the Nazarene. This doesn't mean that we are leaving GBS, it's just a good ministry opportunity for while we are here. Tonight was his first night to actually do the youth service. Unfortunately, Aubrey has been sick since Thursday morning, and we have been nowhere except Children's Hospital ER. That being said, she is much improved tonight, but not completely back to our little Aubrey quite yet. When Adam arrived at church this morning he heard Pastor Meredith Moser announce that there would be a time of welcoming our family and fellowship and getting to know one another after church tonight. Adam knew the possibilities of Aubrey and me being there tonight were slim but they went ahead with the fellowship anyway. A few people brought adorable gifts for our baby and the church SS Superintendent and her husband brought a nice gift for Aubrey. I would have given anything to be a fly on the wall to see Adam opening these baby gifts all alone! Haha!!!

Loved how my friend titled the gift list - "baby sprinkle!" Since it wasn't technically a baby shower, I guess this is most fitting! :) Below, is a picture of the loot!

38 weeks with Aubrey

38 weeks with this one

I was 38 weeks this past Wednesday. Time is flying by this time around. I guess that's what happens when you have a 2 year old to occupy all of your time! :) It's been quite the adventure with having Aubrey already. She loves to talk to the baby, pat my belly, etc. I have been so blessed and fortunate to have had a complication and sickness free pregnancy again this time. I have the normal aches and pains that are associated with the 9th month, but certainly am blessed. Looking forward to meeting our next little bundle in just a little bit of time!

If you don't know the Profitt family, one thing they love to do is play games!! Aubrey is no exception. Here, she and Grandma are playing Uno (at least of sorts!!).

We were thrilled to be able to go with Mom and Dad to see Grandma Ballard - Ron's mom. She is staying at her home in KY and one of Ron's sister's is staying with her. We were just there for about 24 hours, but it was certainly good to see her and some of the rest of the family again.

It was nice to be home for Christmas this year. Adam's parents were in the states for a couple of weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time with them. Aubrey didn't take any time warming up. She ran and practically jumped in mom's arms when we saw them at the airport for the first time! She was thrilled! Thankful for every time we can spend together as family.

This year, we got together for gift-opening on Christmas Eve evening and had various taco dips to eat. Then, for Christmas Day, we headed over to Aaron and Lisa's house for a lunch which was made by the guys. They did quite a good job!! Adam even did the dishes that were left in the sink after we got home!! :)

A while back when my mom asked what Aubrey needed for Christmas I knew immediately and told her a toddler bed. With the new little one joining us in a few short weeks I knew the transition would need to be made. So, my parents got one for her and Ron and Adam assembled it.

She has been doing very well staying in her bed and is sleeping as good as ever. Although, one night I heard her talking sleepily so I went in and she was lying on the floor...half on her rug and half off! I helped her back into her bed and we slept the rest of the night! :)

We were at Borders bookstore a while back and at the entrance they had a huge pink tree on one side and a purple one on the other. Aubrey thought it was the greatest thing and decided she wanted a pink tree, too! Daddy promised her one and a while later we headed to "Uncle Wally's" (that's what she calls Wal-Mart, "because that's what Grandpa says") to get her one. I didn't even know they made little ones like this and I was wondering how in the world he was going to come up with something for her. Well, we entered the store in search of a pink tree and bam! right there not far from the entrance was the aisle that held these little trees. They had pink, purple and white but Aubrey held true to the fact that she wanted a pink tree. We let her pick out a topper and when we got home and put it in her room she was one happy gal! Her smiles these days crack me up, so I had to post all of them! The last picture is a real smile...the rest are her either saying "cheese" or just trying to smile when thinking about what she's doing. Really funny!

Aubrey was very excited to help with putting the Christmas tree up this year. It was so much fun!!

Her favorite part was when we pulled out her nativity from last year. She didn't remember it from then, of course, but sure spent quality time with it this year!

I know, it's really sad that I'm just now posting pictures from our Yount gathering that happened a month ago. We had a great time with my mom's family as most of them came to Cincinnati. It was really nice for us, because we didn't have to travel! My cousin, Craig, opens his restaurant to us for the day and we take over! There's so much food and fun it's crazy! This is our family picture from this year. The different expressions crack me up, and the fact that it looks like Will is picking my dad's nose just makes the picture even better!!! Love my family so much and am so glad we were all able to be together.

Christmas at the train station

Last Saturday, we went to the Museum Center with Aaron, Lisa and the boys. It was the opening day of their Christmas "stuff" in the train part. Very cool! I wasn't sure what to expect because we have only ever been in the Children's Museum part. It was such a fun time.

This is the look she gives when saying "cheese" so I have been trying to get her to just smile and not say anything.

They had this fun little train ride for the kids. They didn't charge for them to ride it and Aubrey rode it probably 10 times! She figured out that when she had to get off the train, she could just go out the gate and right back into the line again.

A NORMAL smile!! It actually happened because of a picture further down where she made a crazy smile and it made me laugh, which made her laugh! :)

Irons Fruit Farm

For the last two years we have gone to Lebanon, Ohio, to Irons Fruit Farm. It is such a fun place to go this time of year. With Aubrey being a year older this year, it was more enjoyable for her. She really enjoyed every part of it. We saw various kinds of animals outside, Aubrey rode on a little ride designed for the kids that was free, went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch where we picked out a pumpkin, and finally went in the bakery.

On Wednesday, I took Aubrey to the library and this was one of the books I picked up for her. I knew we were thinking of going to the farm today, so I thought this would be a fun way to let her know what we were doing. She remembered every day from then til this morning what the plans were and would say, "remember?" She was so happy this morning when we told her she could take the book with us and look at it on the way there.

Fall Retreat

Every year for the past while, "our" church (Lima) has a Fall Retreat at the Beulah Grove Campgrounds. It is so much fun and we have been able to go to all of them, I'm pretty sure, except for when we lived in Cayman. This year was no exception. We had a great time together.

Oh, and did I mention the food? It was AWESOME! Our people know how to cook!! :) I think I gained 20 pounds in those 2 days...

So hard to believe that my baby is already 2 years old! She has definitely been the joy of our lives and we don't know what we would do without her. We celebrated at home on her birthday with Mamaw and Papaw Nichols and Mamaw Yount. Jennifer Bailey and Christianna Baker stopped by later that evening for some cake. They are some of Aubrey's favorite "big" friends. Meemaw and Peepaw were also here via Skype! Thank God for modern technology. It makes the miles not seem quite as far.

My mom's birthday is September 21st and Aubrey's is the 24th, so we have been able to celebrate their birthday's together the past 2 years. She was also present at her birth, so it's a pretty special part of their lives.

Adam worked very diligently to get this kitchen set together in good time for Aubrey to play with it. She still loves it! You can see the look on her face when she sees it in the box for the first time. The pic is just later in the stack.

The longest track I've ever seen. Can't remember how long it is, but they give you one time around. Adam said he had to go slow most of the time for Aubrey to enjoy it. She got a little uneasy when he'd start to speed up. He also told me that early on she got out of her harness, so he was being careful to hold on to her as well as drive!

Our family loves going to Louisville, KY. It's only about an hour and a half from home, but definitely a nice place to get-away! This is our second year in a row to go over Labor Day weekend. Last year we stayed right down town, so we just walked a lot to the various places. This year, we got a hotel about 15 minutes away, so it made for a little different time. Next year, we hope to hit the Children's Museum while we're there. We were going to this year, but simply decided a nap (for Aubrey) was a better idea! We were right. :)

My favorite 2 year old! God definitely blessed me beyond measure 2 years ago. I was used to kids and being around kids, but nothing can prepare you for having your own child. My reasoning for taking the ultrasound pictures to Aubrey's two year appointment is this: She usually freaks out when anyone she doesn't know tries to make her do anything. She wants to cling to me and cry at the thought of being taken from me. She likes familiar things, so I figured it would help. Well, ended up we didn't need to have these at all. It worked out well for the photographer though, because she was in training and they don't get to do to many maternity(ish) photo shoots during that time. It's just a "whenever they come in" sort of thing. I thought they turned out pretty cute!

We were privileged to get to see Adam's Grandma (Profitt) Ballard for a little while this summer. She was on her way (via Aunt Dessie) to Dayton to stay for a while so we met up for lunch in Florence. She is such a funny lady! She was in knots about her haircut - I'm telling you, you should have heard the stuff she was saying she'd do if she got a hold of that hairdressers hair! Her humor was definitely passed down and likely even through to Aubrey! :)

Poor Aubrey ended up with some sort of a stomach problem while we were there. Thankfully, she loved grandma's potty and spent quite a bit of time there. :)
how did this end up being the FIRST picture?! The loveseat really was long enough for Aubrey...she just had herself crammed up to the end of it.

Bless their hearts for putting up with us for 10 days! We slept in the living room on the pull-out couch with an air matress on top of it. Aubrey slept on their love seat which was pushed up against our bed as an extra wall! Here, Grandma and Aubrey are enjoying being together!

Jarrett has a special place in our hearts. He was one of the faithful attenders of our youth group. He and Adam became very good friends in the 2 years we were there.

Well, lots has happened since I last posted. Summer is a busy time for most people it seems and for us, that is no exception. May is always a crazy month with IHC, VIP day (now, for us), graduations, etc. June, this year, took a different spin. We left June 4th and headed to the beautiful Island of Grand Cayman to visit Mom and Dad Profitt, see old friends and students and also attend WCA's graduation ceremony. We had a wonderful time down there and everyone was so happy to see Aubrey, especially. Can I blame them?! Anyway, several of "our" kids graduated this year and we really wanted to be there to help make their day special. We returned home on the 14th (15th early morning, actually!!) only to do laundry and repack our suitcases. We traveled with Faith Trio for the last 2 weeks of the month. They are not only a great sounding group, but they are so much fun to travel with. Aubrey really made some buddies in the van those 2 weeks. Seems weird that after being that close with the group we aren't going to see them anymore this summer. They'd better not forget us! ;)

This past Sunday night was Dr. Taylor's last camp meeting service to preach at here at GBS. Knowing this (and the fact that Adam and I were supposed to sing, which didn't happen :), I invited my parents to come down for the service. My dad served with Dr. Taylor on the board quite a few years ago (I think!). I knew that he loved and respected him and thought they might want to be here for that. Anyway, Sunday afternoon I heard they were coming. I was so excited to see them. And then I didn't even get decent pics of them! Anyway, Aubrey was so excited to see them when she woke up from her nap and even cuddled with pappaw for a good little bit, which she rarely does. They kept Aubrey for us while we practiced again before the service, which was very helpful. Right as the service was getting ready to start I looked at the door and saw my brother and his family. This was a complete and totally awesome surprise! Aubrey was again tickled to death! All I can say is I'm glad I had to be on the platform most of the service, so I didn't have to sit in the 3-ring circus that was likely taking place in their row! Mom said they were very good. After service I was privileged to entertain my family and Grandma Yount (not that she's not family, but you know...), as well as the Alley's. It's not something I get to do very often as I'm usually the one going to mom's house, etc. It was fun. I'd like to do it again. Seriously, guys! Anyway, it was also great to have the Alley's in my home. I can remember our family holding revival services for them when they lived in WV. We would stay with them so I told Sis. Alley it was about time for some payback from me! :)

Finally, here are a few pics from our Easter. It was quite different than any other Easter I have celebrated, but hey, who says they all have to be the same?! After singing in our church's cantata we came home to find our house full of flying ants. Joy. Making a longer story shorter, Adam worked hard to get them all killed and cleaned up. Our house was then filled with chemical, so we ditched the lunch plans and decided to grill out and eat on the porch. (Don't have a table out there, but the chairs are comfy and our laps held our plates just fine!) After our lunch we grabbed the Easter basket that Aubrey had received from church the week before - she didn't know it...it had been kept on the counter all week - and headed back out to hide the eggs. She wasn't too enthused, but after finding that there was chocolate in there, she changed her tune a little! She LOVED eating the chocolate. The first pic shows it all...chocolate all over her face! :) Anyway, it was a good day. He is Risen. He is Risen, indeed!

The picture of Adam was taken when he was speaking at the Aldersgate Academy Junior/Senior Banquet on Friday night. He did a great job and the kids loved it! The picture of me was taken (actually to send to my mom) on the way to the banquet. Mom made my dress for Sarah Ann's wedding several years ago. I'm glad it still fit! :)

Ok, ok...I know it's boring to just read words and see no pictures, but I just wanted to let you know that we are still alive and doing well. :) Things have been super busy around here and this week will be no exception. With IHC and VIP day coming up, there will be no rest for the weary! I am really looking forward to seeing my family at IHC, which is actually the main reason I'm going. I'm sure I'll see many other people that I haven't seen in a long time and that will be fun as well. With not being there the past 2 years due to living out of the country, lots has changed for us!

We are doing well. Adam traveled with the guys quartet yesterday and also had to sing lead for them. It was quite the time, from what I hear. Anyway, we were glad to have him back last night and welcomed him with warm chocolate chip cookies! Not sure he ate any of them, but at least they were there and the house smelled good. :) This is going to be a super busy week for him with VIP day on Friday. If you think of it, say a prayer for him! I know he'd appreciate it!

Aubrey is growing by leaps and bounds. It's crazy the difference a month can make! She's talking all the time and saying 3 and 4 words at a time. Consistently when I sneeze (which is a lot this time of year!) she immediately responds with, "Bless you, mommy!" She is at such a fun stage of life and many times I look at her and ask her not to grow up so quickly! I know this can be a hard stage with all the learning that is being done, but nonetheless, fun! She is generally well mannered and is pleasant to have around. I'm still thankful that God chose me to be her mommy! She loves playing outside (I think she could practically live out there!!), playing in the sand, hitting the tree with sticks, hiding out under the deck, dropping rocks, etc. If it's outside, she's game! She still has her love for reading, for which I'm very thankful. That has been a lifesaver many times...stick her in her crib with a pile of books and she's good to go for a while. She loves playing with her friends and hates it when people leave. It's always a sad time for her. BabyO is among her favorites. She talks about her all the time. I even heard her once at 4am in a sing-song voice saying "babyO." At least she went back to sleep on her own and I didn't have to get up!

I am still babysitting, but now only 3 days a week. Olivia (babyo) is learning to walk and is cutting teeth. What a stage! I'm also still trying to get our apartment organized and home-like. I know we've been here since July, but...we're still working at it. Some days I'll feel really motivated and get lots done and other days I just want to be outside! :)

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post right now...I've taken some, but they're all on my phone and not the camera. Maybe I should just email them to myself and then they can be on here too. We'll see!

We were very pleased and surprised at the fact that they brought my sister's youngest, Allison with them. Adam had tournaments here at the school so he was tied up Friday night but Aubrey and I went over to Grandma's house to wait for mom and dad to arrive. Well, when they came to the door dad was holding Allison and Aubrey couldn't have have been happier! They hugged and kissed and screamed and ran around and hugged and hugged and screamed and ran some more! You should have seen them! Aubrey was happy to see mom and dad, but wow...Alli just put the cherry on top of the sundae for her! Here they are in their matching jammies before they headed home on Saturday night.

A Top Notch Girl!

I just finished chatting with a girl that I met when we lived in Cayman. Her name is Kendra and she attends the school where I taught. She, in fact, was in my mother-in-law's class until this year -- she made the move to HS. Although she didn't attend our church she was a faithful "youth" comer. She is a lady in many ways, very respectful, kind and considerate of others. There is much that I could say about her, but will leave it to that. God's gonna do lots with her! :) We chat every now and then on the computer and today she sent me these pictures of us taken the last week we were there. I only bothered to fix red-eye on one of them, so please disregard that. She also tacked this beautiful picture of herself along with the others.

Well, Blogger isn't wanting to cooperate with me on moving the pics to the order they're supposed to be in, but oh well...you get the idea! Last evening Adam and I decided that we could each open one gift. We are planning to have our own little family Christmas on Christmas morning. The gift we let Aubrey open was the one that we had purchased to give her at the GBS Christmas dinner. We were reimbursed, so it is still from the school. Each year at the dinner, President Avery passes out gifts that are purchased, wrapped and placed under the tree by their parents, to each staff child that wishes to be involved. We told Mandy that we wanted to be in it and then I ran off and left her gift wrapped on the dining room table. Bah. Oh well...she enjoyed it last night when she opened it!

For our 5th anniversary, Adam took me to the Melting Pot restaurant. It was a very slow paced meal as it was 4-course and we cooked what we ate as we wanted it. We started off with a spinach and artichoke dip (YUM!), then had salads, then had our main course which were the foods at the bottom of the post cooked Mojo style (garlic and citrus) and to top it off we had our dessert. We should have gotten a picture of that plate...it was incredible! I chose the dip for our dessert, chocolate with a swirl of crunchy peanut butter. On the plate for dipping were marshmellows (2 covered in oreo crumb and 2 in graham cracker), strawberries, brownies, bananas, rice krispies and a slice of cheesecake. It was a relaxing evening with my favorite person! Thanks to Mom and Dad Profitt for watching Aubrey for us.

Here I am with the roses that were on the table when we arrived. Adam had ordered the "celebration package" which meant I got these flowers and they came and took our picture and put it in a melting pot picture frame. It's cute. Not digital tho, so I don't have it handy to post.

My little family!

The kids adored this little toy...can't remember what it is called, but they would seriously fight for this thing! Aubrey was the only one at the house at this time and Mom and I were making cookies, so it helped her pass the time.
She loves clocks.

I didn't get to take many pictures this year, so here are a few of what Adam caught.

Aubrey was ready for her nap by the time everyone was ready to open presents, so this is how she spent some of the time. After she opened the magnadoodle from mammaw and pappaw that was it. She sat in the corner and played with that the rest of the time.

Ever since we put up the Christmas tree, Aubrey has loved going "nigh, nigh" by it. Typically that means getting some blankets and a pillow and lying in front of it. This particular night Aubrey and Daddy fell asleep.

A new favorite: going bye-bye! I think she likes the idea of it more than anything. She still doesn't like to ride in cars, but she is generally fine once we get to where we are going.
She just looks naughty here!

I picked her up a pack of Pooh and friends ornaments at Walmart. She LOVES Pooh right now.

Over the past month, we have had a new friend joining us on a day by day basis. I took a job babysitting an 8 month old. Her mother works not far from the school so she drops her off around 7:25 in the morning and picks her up around 5:15 in the evening. It's been challenging at times, but is getting better. Aubrey enjoys having "baby" around. Her name is Olivia.

Adam was able to play softball with a city league several times this fall. He wasn't part of the team, but got to play most of the time. Regulars wouldn't be able to come, so they'd call Adam. Kinda handy...get to play, but don't have to pay the fee! I just happened to take my camera on the very last game. He was playing 1st base this game.

Lima trip

Last week, Aubrey and I made the journey up I-75 to Lima. My sister-in-law was going in to have her baby on Wednesday, so we went on Tuesday evening and stayed until Saturday afternoon. (Adam had a busy week with Youth Challenge, so he didn't mind.) Tuesday night, I went over to my brothers house and watched their 2 little girls, Olivia and Suzanna, while Megan went out to do some last minute running around. The girls had a great time playing together. Wednesday around noon, I went to their house again to watch them while her parents went to the hospital for the arrival of their 2nd grandson. William Eric Nichols was born at 2:22 pm weighing in at 9 pounds and was 21.5 inches long. What a cutie he is!! I was able to go to the hospital that afternoon to see my newest little nephew while my mom watched Aubrey. Thursday, I babysat 3 of the Burley kiddos while my sister had conferences then we went shopping. That was fun! Friday, I was planning to come back home, however there were some issues that needed taken care of concerning the house that we're selling. Ended up, I needed to stay until Saturday to get all of that done. Saturday afternoon, I headed back to Cincy to see my sweetheart. It was so good to be back home again. Aubrey and I missed hubby/daddy so much while we were apart.

*I thought my camera batteries were dead, so I took pictures on mom's camera instead of mine. Turns out, when I tried my camera it came on just fine...so this is the only picture I got on my camera. I'm going to get those off my mom's camera though, so hopefully I'll get them on here soon!

Ok, so I hate messes. I have always fed Aubrey anything that tends to be messy or has potential to be messy, just to avoid the mess. She's really getting to the place though where she likes to try to use the spoon or fork. So, this is her first attempt. Chocolate pudding!

Fall Retreat

Every year for the past several years "my" church has had a fall retreat held at the Beulah Grove Campgrounds in St. Mary's. With living out of the country the past 2 years I have missed attending this event. We always have a great time ...playing volleyball, softball, talking, eating, talking, eating and talking and eating some more! With Aubrey things were a bit different, as I couldn't just stay up around the campfire as long as I wanted (or do it at all, for that matter!) or make my own time schedule, but it was still great fun. She loved running around the place as well as playing in the jumping castle that was set up. We ended up staying at the campground for only one night and headed to my parents house for the other night. I figured it would be easier to get ready for church on Sunday having a bathroom down the hall instead of across the yard! It was a great time.

Happy Birthday also to Jane Haylock who shares a birthday with Aubrey. She is one of our friends from Cayman -- she graduated from the school there our first year there and then came to GBS. We're happy that we can be together again. She and her brother stopped by after celebrating her birthday with friends for some cake. They also brought Aubrey a birthday present, which she LOVES! I put Aubrey's candles in Jane's cake. :)

There is a box (I know, I know...) in Aubrey's room that has some of her old clothes in it. She always gets these purple striped pants and carries them around the house. One time, we put them on her head and she thought that was funny. Now she will bring them to us and then pat her head telling us that she wants to wear them.
